About
In order to maintain healthy relationships between individuals, communities, nations, and land, our environments must enhance our wellbeing. Such a task begins with our connection to the land, as the earth possesses elements that heal us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The land should therefore be interwoven with the functions of our built world, which, in the case of the Canadian embassy, support two major roles: on one hand, the embassy embraces, making one feel supported, nurtured, secure, and sheltered; on the other, it reaches out, welcoming, offering, and giving back to the local community and its surroundings. Working in tandem through the land creates an environment that strengthens wellbeing and, as a result, the relationships that are maintained from within it.
