Stone Edging

→ ARCH 293

About
Hamilton ON, Albian Fall Park is in a highly erosion prone location and 5km away from the site is the historical waterfall, Shannon Falls. The rate of flooding and its severity continue to expedite each year. Stone Edging geological museum aims to not only harness the material qualities of stone, but through delamination, it aims to decelerate its impact on the existing ecological site and allow time for unexpected habitation to take over. The stone cuts through the landscape and exposes the natural beauty of the site. It activates the deserted water bank to the fellow visitors by temporal sequences of linear layering and by allowing them to meander through on a journey. A unique entrance takes hold of one’s curiosity and pulls the visitor into something majestic and poetic. The Stone Edging Museum is a collection of raw stone and gentle carving of land aimed to remediate one’s soul and a piece of the earth.
